THE BOX PREMIERE NIGHT A HUGE SUCCESS! - After two years of hard work and passionate effort, we finally held our premiere showing of THE BOX to a packed house and enthusiastic crowd! It was a tremendous success. The event, held on Monday, February 9th at 7:00 p.m. at the Clearwater Cinema Cafe, offered a display of props, storyboards and script pages. Every seat was filled at the 100 seat theater. The audience, full of cast members, crew, family and friends, all had a great time.

At one point we had intended to give away a full size poster of THE BOX to the cast member who had brought the greatest number of people to the event, but when Samantha, Mike and Brian had each brought 13 people, the prize went to John Snell, who came alone.

There is nothing better than an "opening night crowd" and the audience at the premiere was no exception. They were incredibly enthusiastic and supportive. We all had a lot of fun.

Below are some pics from the event. We'll be adding more soon, so please keep checking back.

Writer/Director Pete Bauer, with his sister Loretta, pose by the poster of THE BOX in the theater lobby.

A small group of people entered soon after the doors opened at 6:00 p.m.

The early arrivals got their pick of seats. Josh Fortin, in the front left, was an actor
in THE BOX and did Bauer the favor of saving those seats for Bauer's parents.

Before the screening began, Pete Bauer took the stage to introduce the film
and asked the audience to pose for a "BEFORE" picture.

Bauer then asked them to pose for a disappointing "AFTER" picture.
Some succeeded at holding back their smiles, others didn't.

Dorothea Bauer hangs out near the props of vials, which were actually cologne containers in a laptop case.

A running gag during the shoot was Samantha and Dorothea making the Saturday Night Live
"Superstar" pose. We ended the evening by all striking the pose.

After the screening, Bauer shares some stories and gives out THE BOX goodies.

Jeff Strand, center, and his wife Janice watches as Pete hands out THE BOX goodies.

In the foreground, John Snell and Brian Shea, who played the chemists
in the beginning of the movie, enjoy the post-screening events.

The audience listens patiently as director Bauer waxes poetic about the making of the movie.

Another Cast Photo

We set up an area of the theater to show props, scripts and storyboards used to make the movie.
Kyme, one of the Producers, had the cast and crew sign a THE BOX t-shirt.

Some of the audience overflowed into our display area, where we had THE BOX props and other
behind-the-scene items. To the right (smiling at the camera), Dan Khoury, who played Nigel, enjoys the evening.

Bauer's best friend, Tim Osterhout, has been in every single Local Talent production.
In THE BOX he had a minor role, but was the lead in JUSTICE. Osterhout and Bauer have been making movies
since high school, starting out with a never-to-be-finished slasher flick shot on Super-8.

Gary Twigg and Maralee Demark were instrumental in getting the film made. They allowed us to
use their boat for Anderson and Dante, the exterior of their house was used for the character of Nigel
and the interior of their house was used for Anderson's island retreat. They were awesome!
